Clinic Update
We’d like to welcome Shari Macdonald as our new Clinic Director. Shari is a registered physiotherapist working in Calgary for the past 12 years and brings with her a tremendous amount of experience. Her accomplishments include certification in Sport Physiotherapy and Acupuncture and she has completed her Manual Manipulative Therapy Part A exams. Shari’s wealth of clinical experience, added to our world-class research, is an outstanding combination.
We’d also like to welcome Wendy Kimmel as one of our new Research Technicians. Wendy has a Masters of Science degree from UC Davis in Mechanical Engineering and recently comes to us from Florida after working at the Veterans Administration Center of Excellence. She has been instrumental in getting our Gait Analysis System operational and will play a key role in our clinical research.
Research Update
Mike Pohl, a Research Fellow in the Clinic, has recently published an article in The Journal of Foot and Ankle Research. This is the first study to better understand how weakness of the ankle stabilizing muscles influences walking gait mechanics. Impressively, the article has been flagged as “Highly Accessed” by the journal – a very high honor indeed. If you would like to read more of this article, please follow the link below.
